And yet more bananas

On her blog Janice has written about surgical stockings. I commented there that after getting Husband's on him I needed a lie-down. I mean there's tight and there's flipping ridiculous.

Anyway, I tried to get a spare pair from the chemist and then from the nurse but everyone said you could only get them from the hospital. He doesn't need to wear them now anyway so that was okay, but what happens next?

I get adverts on Facebook for surgical/compression socks!

Janice also said that they're not very glamorous. But what about these?!

You can buy them on the internet in loads of fancy designs! So you know where to go if you need to.

I think there's been a surge in popularity after changing the name from "support hose" to "athletic performance socks". Bananas.

I have a friend who must wear compression stockings. A nurse showed her "the special trick" to putting them on more easily.

They are very masculine.

CJ sent me a link for jolly stockings, but I don't think I'll bother . . .

I don't think the compression socks you can buy online are the same as the extremely tight surgical stockings. The compressions socks are a bit easier to put on. I often wear them myself because of the long hours I spend sitting at my desk. My feet and calves tend to swell. I know from working in a nursing homr that surgical stockings require a lot more effort to get on.

Love,
Janie

Compression socks come in varying degrees of strength, and I bet the ones in your house are on the stronger end.
