Inevitable

So Husband's op has been postponed.

Too many emergencies and too much demand for operating theatres. It was always a possibility but still very disappointing now it's happened. No new date given yet.

Nothing much else to say really.

My article for Gower Community Magazine is here. (On page 26 if it doesn't go straight there.) It's all about lurve.

Sorry to hear about the postponement. I hope they give your husband a new date soon.

Your Gower article on Valentines Day makes me curse all over again the misogynistic socialization processes of our youth which taught girls that they are "nothing without a man." That's such an evil lie. I trust that today's girls are not subjected to it, although I wonder.

I'm downhearted to hear about yet another postponement. This is so hard and I hope they schedule him soon.

Oh, dear. I'm so sorry. Your article is very good. My mother told me I would never have anything unless I married a man who could take care of me. She said I would never be able to hold down a job. She's been dead for years. The man who was supposed to take care of me had a psychotic break. I hold down a job and could have done so before and much more successfully if I had started when I was younger instead of believing what my mother said--that I was nothing and nobody who was supposed to shut my mouth and take care of my husband because he was the important one. At least I broke the chain. My daughter has a Ph.D. and she has an excellent job. She is not dependent on a man. I don't think life ever turns out perfectly for the pretty, popular girls, unless those girls also happen to be intelligent and hard working.

Love,
Janie

That is so disheartening. I hope the operation will soon be rescheduled.

How frustrating. Especially since they didn't give him a new date.

I have experienced such delays, sp that the surgery has never happened. In my case it was not a life-saving surgery, but it was certainly life-impacting.
