This afternoon we offered to take Toby Dog (Elder Son and Daughter-in-law's hound) for a walk, which was an excellent excuse to go to Crawley Woods in wonderful autumnal sunshine.
Toby's motto is, "Why walk when you can run?"
He's a Newfoundland Duck Toller retriever.
Meanwhile Husband remains adamant that we're not getting another dog. His reasoning that we have two we can borrow is all well and good but it's not the same.
In other news I have made a decision: I am stopping doing my radio talk. You may recall I talked about it a while ago. With the situation at Zac's changing I'm going to be doing a bit more there so I have decided that is where my heart is and where I want to be serving.

The radio station was lucky to have you for the duration of your show.
It was time. What kind of changes at Zacs? Do you know yet what you will be doing there? I think you've been coming to this conclusion about making a change for a while. Will links to your talks continue to be live? Do not write on both sides of the exam paper at once..
We are also dogless right now and it's a constant battle not to try to adopt another. We purposely scheduled a long winter vacation with plane tickets for February so we would not be able to have a dog before that. We did enjoy a lot of time with our "borrowed dog" (our friends' Springer Spaniel, named Pesto) over the summer, so that does indeed help! I have to admit life is easier without a dog but I don't think I can do this forever.
Zac's benefits greatly from your presence and volunteer work!
Toby is a lovely dog. Your woods look like a beach!
That is a curious and interesting breed. A beauty too.
If it feels right, another dog would be a good thing. Sorry about the radio program. I think you should take time to consider a bit more before you definitively decide. Could you make it something MORE of value to you? Could it be more related to Zacs?

I have to say, I was the same as your husband about getting another dog after my last one had died. No more. That is until the day husband dumped a chubby black and white puppy in my lap and said - I can take her back if you say so. Right - nothing said.
