This is why I don't trust non-stick pans

Took Toby to Pobbles today along with his cousin Louie.

Louie wanted to play but toby wasn't having it!

An explanation

Sean Stillman, who leads Zac's, was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease last year. As well as leading Zac's with all that entails he is International President of God's Squad Christian Motorcycle Club.

So some of us are trying to step up and take on some of the things he does but doesn't need to do. Obviously there are loads of things only he can do - he is a very special man - but things like preparing food for the homeless I can help with more.

Last week he was in Ukraine spending time with some of the God Squad chapter there, many of whom are on the front line giving humanitarian aid, and next week he goes out to Australia to spend time with God Squad there.

He's not the sort to give up without a fight but he's realising his limitations, and accepting them. I know it doesn't sound like it with those overseas trips but he will be looked after.

Hence my decision to stop my radio talk and focus on what I can do to help at Zac's.

You can read Sean's story and the story of Zac's in Sean's book, God's Biker. I even get a mention!

And for tonight's bible study I've made Jude's biscuits, so-called because a friend named Jude gave me the recipe many years ago.

But this is why I don't trust non-stick pans: they lie.

Thank you for explaining about Sean. I think you're making a great decision to switch your energies to hands on help. Particularly in view of the hardship ahead for a lot of people this winter.

Thanks, Boud. It feels right.

A good man. Glad you can help him out.
Non-stick pans are fine until they're not and then they suck. I always line mine with paper now.

Sean sounds like an admirable guy and even travels to distant lands to help people. Your decision is wise to spend time in support of his work. I discovered parchment paper a couple years ago and put it on baking sheets and in nonstick pans. It works a treat.

Yes, non stick pans do lie. The non stick stuff also comes off after a while.
