Boosted!

Husband and I both had our Covid booster yesterday. Husband's was done locally at lunchtime; mine was an evening appointment in a clinic in Gorseinon.

Gorseinon's not far away but it has its own unique one way system. Add to that the fact that our GPS needs updating and doesn't include lots of roads and you can begin to understand why I spent fifteen minutes driving around trying to find the place.

At one point I thought, "There it is," and headed towards it, only to discover it was an Aldi supermarket.

I had visions of being turned away but the system was much less organised than I imagined and there was no problem even though I was ten minutes late for my scheduled appointment time.

I had Moderna and I've been fine; Husband had Pfizer and endured an overnight bout of flu. Aching all over, shivering and hot, shaking - and walking into the door as a result - and generally having to survive on paracetamol. He has improved a little now I'm pleased to say.

This morning it was back to Zac's for my first full Thursday shift. First in I had a list of things to do and was feeling pretty pleased with how it was going until someone discovered the three portions of chilli I'd somehow managed to leave in the oven.

I like to think it was fortuitous as we were very busy and finding three extra meals at the last minute was a bonus. Around eighty-five people were served today with a hot meal, banana, cake, bottle of water, hot drink and or soup.

And I was extra pleased as I saw a couple of people (our guests) I've not seen since before lockdown. Both looked and sounded well. One of them was Tam, so famous he's been on the news.

He saw me before I saw him and he shouted out, "Mrs Hinds! Liz!"

Apparently he's a regular reader of my articles in The Bay magazine. And he even quoted lots back to me to prove it. He said how much he enjoys it. It was such a delight to see him and to be complimented in such a genuine way.

You can read more about him here.

And she's gone. Shortest-serving Prime Minister ever beating the previous record of a man who died in office. The trouble is the alternatives are just as bad. It's even been said that Boris Johnson is planning to stand.

We need a general election!

How nice that Tam showed up again, hale and hearty, and is a fan of your Bay articles! I hope Britain does get a general election -- time for a change, I think!

I don't envy your choices as PM. Much the same here. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.
