Underneath the spreading (Indian) Chestnut tree

I know it's an Indian Chestnut only because there's a sign.

I love trees and fungi but I know nothing about them. I often see adverts for Identification Walks - Come and learn to recognise all the common varieties - and am tempted. But I know that within a day I'd have forgotten it all.

My brain's too full! My attempts to learn Welsh are witness to that.

But here are some of the more interesting fungi I saw today along with a tree that's changing colour from top downwards.

I love fungi and trees and can't seem to learn the names however often I look them up, or study the leaves and the bark. So I'm an innocent bystander.

Yes, information doesn't stick nowadays like it used to when we were young, alas.
