Bank Holiday THURSDAY!

Last of the Summer Moet - well-written frothy romance amongst the upper middle classes. 

The Vinyl Detective - one in a series I'm enjoying. Usually on the hunt for a rare record the so-called Vinyl Detective and his eccentric pals get caught up with murderous plots. 

All Human Wisdom - the odd one out. Looks a bit more intellectual - if I'm going to be a book snob.

Which reminds me. On CopCar's blog she has a post featuring one of those lists of Books Everyone Should Read. I reckoned I've read about nineteen out of a hundred. Recently I saw this on facebook and thought it well worth sharing here.

I also managed to pick up three jigsaws, three books and a princess unicorn from a charity shop for twelve pounds. 

That's me happy and settled. 

Now I know there has been no end of build-up to the jubilee celebrations this week but somehow they slipped me by so I have been caught out by a bank holiday. Two bank holidays in fact, Thursday and Friday.

Yes, you heard me, a bank holiday on a THURSDAY. I may never know what day of the week it is ever again.

I suppose in America you are used to public holidays on Thursdays with Thanksgiving but here bank holidays are always Mondays. It's just not right to do it this way. It catches people, by which I mean me, out.
