So many books, so little time

A cooking afternoon yesterday. Rhubarb (home-grown) cake for Zac's and pizza for dinner.

Tim said, "Ooh, I think that apple cake is my favourite of your cakes."
"Rhubarb."
"Is it? Oh."

More cooking this morning, this time chilli in Zac's, followed by shopping, followed by a little read in the sunshine and some weeding/planting.

Aren't libraries just the best places? Except they have too many books I want to read. I made a fairly frothy selection again today, the ongoing question 'is George going to be alright or not?' still weighing heavy.

Also over ice cream yesterday morning my friend and I discussed writing. She asked me if I'd done any recently. The thought has been on my mind for a while but that's as far as it's got. "I remember I used to be a writer."

I know I still spend a large proportion of most days writing but not on my novel. I miss it. Need to get back to it. I suppose I should be doing more marketing as well. I guess if my books were selling I would feel more like a writer and less as if  I'm 'wasting my time writing'. Nobody except me says that to me you understand.

Right now George thinks it's time for tea. He's been telling me this for the last hour or so. That's the trouble with waking us up at 5.30 and wanting his breakfast; his tummy gets empty sooner even though we don't give in until 6.30.

Your pizza and rhubarb cake both look deelish! Hugs to George, I hope he doesn't have any more incidents.

About these frothy books. Like what? Mysteries? Village tales? Beach romances? Nosy readers need to know. Also your cooking looks great.

Your pizza….. absolutely stunning looking (and I bet tasting)!!! Your cake is very nice looking too, albeit rhubarb is not a fruit (I do not think it is technically a fruit, but you know what I mean) that I am fond of.

I would wish to encourage you to again delve into your novel writing!!!! I find that you have done so and have another idea for another novel so very admirable!!!! I also find it so very interesting and encouraging when you talk about your novel writing process….. it feels like a “mentor-ship” of sorts for me, even though my actual novel writing is only a pipe dream, though I have a large number of ideas I would like to make into a novel if only I had the appropriate gumption and fortitude to “do it”.
