Sing your hearts out

Today is National Anthem Day. To be fair it's probably an American 'day' as it commemorates the date on which the star-spangled banner was adopted as the national anthem of the United States, but it's still a good reason to share a bit of the passion you can expect on match day in the Welsh international rugby stadium in normal times.

In December 1905 Wales played the New Zealand All Blacks, a team unbeaten in 27 international matches - actually just unbeaten. Before the game the New Zealanders performed their traditional haka and Wales responded by singing our national anthem, Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau. That was the first time an anthem had ever been sung before a rugby match.

It did the trick: Wales won 3-0.
