You know what they say about good intentions

This morning a friend - actually the doctor who operated on me a few years ago - was running the 'London ' marathon up and down the promenade. As he would be passing by what is almost the end of our road I thought I'd go and give him a cheer on.

I checked with his wife on the time he'd be passing, realised I only had a short time to get in position, and hurried there.

Well, either he was very fast and early, or something happened, or, and most likely, we had a breakdown in communications. I missed him.

I did cheer on a few sole runners in the miserable weather, just not the right one.

It wasn't a completely wasted journey though as, during the stormy night, quite a few conkers had been scattered down. Nuora uses them to make a washing liquid. You can find out how to do it yourself just here
Two things I did discover this morning:
1) my shoes leak. Badly.
2) I struggle to jog for even two minutes let alone running for twenty-six miles.

Well, it's the thought that counts!

That's what I say. And I've made sure to tell them I did try!

Sorry you missed your friend, Liz; but, your time wasn't wasted since you now know about your shoes!

You've just reminded me, CopCar: I can add them to my shopping order.

I don't think you're supposed to run unless someone is chasing you with a big knife. Running for fun is just weird.
