Big Brother is watching

I've only just discovered that Google keeps a record of where I've been - I assume using my phone. Equally fascinating and scary.

Before you panic, it may be because Husband put a tracker on my phone rather than it being something done routinely. Or maybe not ...

Strangely enough it shows no record of my alien abduction.

Although we (husband & I) don't track anyone, our elder daughter has trackers on all of the iPhones in the family (my husband, her husband, their daughter, their daughter's fiancée.) She is very trusted, by all of us, and it can be a safety measure. Daughter is VP of human resources for the held companies of a holding company and very religious about guarding peoples' privacy.

I have a Smart Phone but have never subscribed to a data service and have tracking turned "off" except for responding to the 9-1-1 system.

Husband mostly uses it to work out where I am and what time I am likely to be home! It's a good safety device.

I was a bit concerned when I first realised this but I think it's quite interesting now. Sometimes it asks me "How did you find your visit to ......" It won't show alien abduction though because they don't want anyone to know about that! :-)

Not surprised Google is keeping track of you - any time I look for some specific item, seems many ads for said item(s) show up on my phone, facebook, email. Kinda spooky actually.
