This should have been half of a birthday cake I was making for a girl in church. Before George got at it. I didn't speak to him for the rest of the evening except to tell him how naughty he was. I was still grumbling at him this morning much to his bemusement.
I kept my second attempt well out of his way.

Poor George! He was only doing what any woofie doggie would do. (Or, me, for that matter).
I want a piece of that cake! Please?
poor george - if #1 looked as nice as #2 i'd have been tempted too
Sounds like George is a "Marley." Did you read the book or see the movie?
The final product looks lovely. We had UNbirthday cake cooked over the campfire this week. They did look rather like the first one, as getting them out of the pan was tricky. Absolutely no complaints about the eating of them, though.
Very symbolic strawberries!
One central strawberry and 12 apostle strawberries around it.
Planning or coincidence?
Lovely second cake! Good thing George didn't get that one. My Bocephus has still not gotten back into my mother's good graces from the time he ate half a loaf of her good homemade bread! Poor little doggies, never get any treats unless they take matters into their own paws!
The final product looks delicious :-)
if i start going to church will you bake me a cake like that? ;0)
looks gorgeous Liz :0)
Hmm As Lveable a rogue he is, I bet you wished he could be a god boy ionce in a while!
That's an awful lot of cake for George to have eaten. Surely he must be feeling a bit queasy after that lot?
If i could, i would send you some, nick!
it was just the cake coling in the tin when George got it, Ackworth.
Read the book, leslie. Marley had nothing on George.
Cake cooked over campfire, katney? Sounds intriguing.
coincidence, stu!
George gets plenty of treats, Morning Glories!
Thanks, cherrypie and amanda.
I wish, jams! Harvey never stole food and we can't work out how to stop george.
Not a bit of it, nick. THis is the dog with the iron stomach.
Oops! ROFL! Poor George .. he probably thought you left it there just for him!
Did he look at you with the sad, accusing eyes when you told him off? I bet he did!
He was probably thinking 'Humans! Can't live with 'em, can't bury 'em in the garden!'
LOL!
The second cake looks gorgeous!
Luckie says "Way to go George!"
Luckie's "search and destroy" food missions in our household are infamous and frequent!!!
Well given how much George left the first one must have been good... :-)
LOL, George obviously enjoys your baking:)
That second cake is so pretty. Poor George1
Oh! what a naughty boy George is! Mind you, I can't blame him the finished result looked excellent and I would have waited for you to completely finish it and then I'd have nicked off with it.
I would like to insist that you put up the recipe, your just teasing us all now with the photo's
Much love,
Lia xx
