My mum died 36 years ago. At the time of her death she was employed as secretary to the general manager of the South Wales Transport Company. From the mass of floral tributes sent to her funeral I remember one card. The flowers were from a woman I'd never met, who worked in the SWT canteen. On her card she'd written, 'Good night, gentle lady, sleep tight.'

This is a very very nince photo. I can feel the love in your mother's eyes. What a pretty women she was. And I belive she was a very good mother too. I feel sorry for you loss. Very nice word on that card!

How strange. Your mum died when you were 19...in a few days, it'll be 19 years ago that my mum died! As I read the card sent by the woman who knew your mother, I thought that was such a beautiful tribute to her. Just think...to be remembered as 'gentle lady'! That says a lot about your mother's character right there. This was a lovely post, Liz.
