Buy more sugar

Has anyone watched Mr Mercedes

We got through the first season, gruesome and unpleasant though it was, but episode one of the second season was unbelievably slow so we gave up.

Several new and old shows currently online should keep us occupied for a bit, but could do with some new good comedies.

I gave the scaffolders - all five of them - tea and coffee this morning but that's left us with very little milk. I've taken a carton out of the freezer but it takes time to defrost. I could go out and buy some but that would involve reversing the car out of the back gate and, as I had to move it previously, it's now in an awkward position and I don't want to be watched trying to reverse it. Is it just me who gets herself in these ridiculous states over nothing?

I'll go and see if the milk has defrosted yet.

Nearly there. Or near enough at least.

Later

Have just watched two episodes of Taking Over the Asylum, with a very young David Tennant. About a radio station in a psychiatric hospital. "We're loonies and we're proud!" We watched it when it was originally on (1994) and though very much of its time, it's very moving.

The scaffolders have left though they might be back tomorrow as they've not finished.

Need to buy sugar too with one taking three teaspoonfuls, three taking two and one taking one. That's half a sugar bowl's worth.

You're certainly hospitable to your roofers. I don't envy them their jobs, can't even watch!

When we had the scaffolding up, mad thing that I am, I went up to the top. It was only a few ladders to climb.
It is a fascinating view from up there, far different from looking out of the bedroom window. I don't know what it is, maybe it's because its a panoramic , unobstructed view but it is so different. I wish now I had taken photographs.
My husband was going mad with me, because he can't even climb up three rungs on a ladder without feeling dizzy and he certainly couldn't watch me !

You are a very hospitable employer, hopefully they don't slow time because of all the tea flowing. 😂😂

On the other note there's not very many good comedies about, I'm a big fan of the great British sitcom and panel shows - sadly there's few about these days.

Haven't seen either of those shows. Happy New Year.

I can't watch any movie or TV series that has graphic violence, gore or horror. I'm too delicate a little flower for that. For example, I had to quit watching your British series "Luther" for that reason. Holy moly, it was violent.

So much violence on tv, mirroring the world these days. I can only take it in small doses.

I can't watch things that are gruesome. I have to cover my eyes.

You don’t sound like mystery fans. We are currently streaming both Unforgotten and Shetland. Unfortunately, we are being constrained to 1 episode per week.

I'm sure your roofers appreciate your hospitality.
We're in need of a new diversion show. We watched almost all of Peaky Blinders before I had to jump ship. I googled to see how it all ended. The production was great, but such despicable characters. Comedy sounds good.
