My problem is

Correction. One of my problems is that I'm too short. In that I can't reach things. Not particularly short - about 5'4" - but too short to reach the top of the bush even with my newly-acquired step-stool.

Feeling energised after my no-dentist, I weeded and pruned. I found myself apologising to a few forget-me-nots, telling them, "It's for the greater good," as I pulled them from around the gooseberry bush. If the area isn't cleared it's a breeding ground for convolvulus, my despised enemy.

I know I keep on about my tulips but just look at them!

* * * * *
We've been watching a series called The Game. Set in London in 1972 during the Cold War, MI5 has wind of a secret Russian plot that promises to be bigger than anything they've seen before. Spies, pesky Ruskies, and a mole, all the ingredients you'd expect. It was made in 2014 but I think made in a way to reflect the style at the time. I mean, it seems older than 2014.

We're enjoying the twists and turns; the only off-putter is that the head of MI5 is called Daddy. Oh, yes, at one point the Head of Operations, the homosexual living with his bullying mother (who's also a nun in Call the Midwife), says, something along the lines of, "Well, better he gets killed than many more. For the greater good, you know." Hence my words to the forget-me-nots.

I do not know if I have ever asked you this before… but do you by chance watch either of these Sky Arts programs:

Portrait Artist of the Year
or
Landscape Artist of the Year

? I ask because my wif and I absolutely LOVE both series and are fortunate to find we can view them on Amazon Prime here in the US. We first saw one season of Portrait Artist that was shown on our PBS channel, and we loved it back then. We relish each episode and our routine now is to watch an episode while we eat a special Sunday Morning breakfast together each week.

On FB I see many British shows being mentioned, but we only seem to see a few of them on Britbox or Acorn. Too bad because British tv is the best.

You are justly proud of those tulips!

The tulips are lovely - well worth a boast. It's surprising how postponed appointments can sometimes engender energy and enthusiasm.

I love the tulips. So cheery!

I keep all our bushes to a maximum of six foot so I can keep pruning them easily without needing ladders or whatever.

Your tulips are, indeed, beautiful and praiseworthy.
