There's clyfar!

I love that a smartphone in Welsh is ffon clyfar. A clever phone sounds so much cleverer than a smart phone, for some reason. There should be a little hat over the o in ffon but I can't recall the code for it.

Another smart idea, this time from Elaine, my fitness instructor. Last week she reminded us oldies to try and keep upright when we walk up a hill or upstairs. It's true that I've started leaning forward, and more air can get in if you're upright. Tricky though. As Husband pointed out, leaning forward gives you a bit of extra momentum to get up the hill!

And now we've passed the birthday I can start listening to Christmas music and get my Christmas mugs out! In Zac's last week, Claire, our chef, asked if I'd put light-up George out yet. I'd completely forgotten about light-up George! (How could I?)

We'll have to work out where Husband has put him first though.

I like clever 'phone. Smart 'phone sounds a little smug.
I have to make myself stand up straight, but my back wants me to stoop. Walking poles help.

I like that Welsh form a lot.

My first thought for the Welsh translation was phone clear far because we can hear people far away so clearly--as long as no one enters a cell service dead area. That's a good tip about staying upright. I'll try to remember that.

Love,
Janie

I'm trying to make good posture a habit, whether I'm walking up a hill or on a flat.
