Trying to get a grip

Another lovely walk with Daughter and dogs - except I lost Toby's lead somewhere en route so we had to come home the long way down the back lanes to avoid the need for a lead. Fortunately, before we reached the chickens, we met a man who gave us an old lead.

Definitely needed a lead to walk dogs through this flock. I have never seen a  flock of wholly black sheep before.

They looked rather like the All Blacks rugby team lining up to do the haka.

Then more cooking this afternoon. Tried a new recipe for blueberry muffins for Zac's tonight. Haven't tasted them yet but they were very simple to make so if they taste good they could become a regular feature on Tuesdays.
My success rate with muffins varies so we'll see. The recipe had loads of good reviews.

And I've just put a load of craft books onto Facebook marketplace. I'll see if anyone wants to pay a small amount for them (they belong to Nuora) and if not I'll freecycle them.

The title of this post, Trying to get a grip, describes the way I feel about life at the moment. There are lots of things I want to do I just need to get on with them. Not sit around staring at my computer.

We normally get up at about eight. Husband rises earlier and brings tea back to bed , but this morning when he got up for the second time I curled up and went back to sleep. I didn't wake until after nine and felt much better for it. I currently have a cold sore and I've recently had a couple of styes, so my diagnosis is fatigue and my remedy, get more sleep.

Ideally go on holiday to a warm place but there are various reasons why that isn't advisable at the moment so a bit longer in my own bed will have to suffice.

This is a great time of year to take care of yourself.

The muffins look tasty. I think I could use a vacation somewhere warm but that's just not going to happen

It's good to remember all the other mammals resting and moving slowly because it's winter. You probably need fewer commitments for now.

Get a grip and lose the grippe. That's what we called the flu when I was a boy.
