NaNoWriMo23

So it's November 1st and time to put my (stupid) idea into practice.

You may recall I set myself some targets. Well, I haven't finished Christmas shopping but most of it is done. I haven't finished editing completed novel but most of it is done. I have started writing - or rather rewriting - new novel.

In case you don't know, NaNoWriMo* is an annual international thing where writers sign up and accept the challenge to write 50,000 words during November. I've completed it on a couple of occasions, and on others I've let it slide. One year I did my own MyNoWriMo in February. This year I'm not signing up nor am I planning to write the number of words required each day to reach the total. What I am hoping to do is write at least a few words each day though.

Today I've managed 207 and they're not very good but they're a framework to build on later so I'm happy.

In fact I'm happy just to have started. I've walked Louie twice today, been into Zac's to cook, done some Christmas shopping, and gone to one end of town to pick up a gift I'd ordered only to find it was in a store at the other end of town.

So all in all a busy but fruitful day.

And now I'm going to bed. Yes I know it's only 8.30.

* Official definition: NaNoWriMo is a nonprofit organization that provides tools, structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds — on and off the page.

I was hoping you'd do nanowrimo, as you'd mentioned a while back but didn't like to ask.
