Approved by Good Housekeeping

Husband decided I deserved an award for my rarely-seen housekeeping skills.

Yes, it's a posed photo but I was cleaning, honest!

In between finishing a bit of painting that is. I had GrandSon2 and GrandDaughter2 yesterday and after a trip to Ninja Warrior, McDonalds, the adventure playground, and the beach, I got GrandDaughter2 doing some painting. Seeing her hard at work Husband said to me, "You could paint our garden gnome."

Many many years ago someone (one of the children maybe) bought us a Welsh rugby-playing gnome. It's been shuffling around the garden ever since and had fallen into a state of disrepair.

So I got out my paints and brushes too and here he is, outside the front door, next to a dog Elder Son dug up from the island across the road when he must have been about ten.
He's still noseless but at least he has two arms unlike doggy, who could do with a coat of paint too actually . . .

Doing an online crossword while eating my lunch I came across a clue: one of the wise men. Hm, Porthos, Aramis, Athos . . . oh wait a minute.

If I had a brain I would be dynamite. I would no longer walk from one room to another with a specific purpose in mind only to reach the other room and have no idea why I'm there. If I had a brain.

* * * * *
And I found a jumper of mine half-buried in the garden.

I also wander about the house aimlessly.
