TBR and TBD

I chose two colours but then I looked in the little colour chart booklet and changed my mind. Instead I settled on Caramel Latte and Nutmeg White.

So far so good, very good for me in fact to make a decision so quickly. Today I went to the shop.

You know the way they lay out all the colour selections by shade theme? Caramel Latte wasn't where it was supposed to be. It wasn't anywhere. Not even in the selection of testers, and not because they'd sold out but because it just wasn't there.

I ummed and aahed and browsed and chose another selection - but they didn't have any of my choices in silk, which is what Husband prefers. There was nothing for it: I would have to go to another shop.

I zipped a bit further across town and arrived at B&Q where I was greeted by their Christmas selection. How mean is that, putting it just inside the door where you can't fail to see and have to have a little look. (Is it time to change my tree colour scheme? Should I even  abandon a colour scheme? How many Santa gnomes does one woman want? Would a huge lit-up reindeer on the front lawn intimidate callers? Such dilemmas.)

Back to the paint. No sign of Caramel Latte here either - even though it's in the newest colour chart - so dithered some more, bearing in mind what Boud had written about paint looking darker on the wall.

Finally, or perhaps in desperation, I chose Malt Chocolate on the grounds that, like caramel latte, it's a warm brown drink. How different can it be?

* * * * *

I wasn't going to walk Toby today because the rain has been ferocious but it brightened up long enough for us to get around Clyne Gardens without getting too soggy.

As we're stripping the dining-room I'm putting my jigsaws away temporarily (I use the dining table).
In the meantime here are my To Be Read and To Be Done piles.

I took five finished jigsaws back to the charity shop and only bought two. When the woman behind the counter saw my Irish Writers jigsaw she clearly thought I was a big fan of Irish writers rather than interesting jigsaws and said, "I've just given my seventeen-year-old daughter Ulysses to read."
"Good luck with that."

Thousand-piecer puzzles? You're in the Chaffinch (Clever Kids) group. Me, I'm still among the Swallows.

About the paint, well dangit. I buy white and mix when I want paler than I can buy. At least I used to back when I painted my own walls.

Your paint colors come already mixed? That can be annoying if you run out of a color before finished.

Caramel latte can be improved by adding a shot of Baileys 🤪

What 17-year-old WOULDN'T want to read "Ulysses," lol?

Ulysses? ugh I've never read Ulysses and don't know if I'll ever bother. A lighted reindeer in the yard might be stolen. I stick to decorating inside the house, where the thieves have to make at least a little more of an effort to abscond with a gnome--not that I actually have any. You've been subjected to a terrible trauma with caramel latte nowhere to be found except the coffee shop. Buy a cup and splash it around?

Love,
Janie

Well, if the colour is too dark we do have white I can add, Boud.

It is possible in some shops to have your colour mixed for you but a bit more expensive than the pre-mixed, Pam.

I won't suggest that to Husband, Stu, we'll never get the room finished!

I've never finished it, Debra.

Strangely enough, Janie, the year we 'made our own' light-up reindeer no-one stole it. Although they probably couldn't tell what it was.
