One of those nights

Last night I went around the back of the house to see the pretty colours in the sky. When I returned the front door it was shut. Husband had locked me out.

I knew the back door was already locked so knocked hard on the front door. No joy. Fortunately I had my phone with me - in case I could get a decent sky photo - I couldn't - so I rang Husband. No answer.

Meanwhile George, who was in the hall, was barking like mad. I tried phoning again.

Eventually I resorted to Whatsapp: you've shut me out!

He was cleaning his teeth (he says), that's why he didn't hear me.

I wonder when he would have noticed I wasn't in bed.

I should have known it was going to be one of those nights.

Up most of it with George who was struggling to poo. We're off to the vet's later on.

Got up this morning and saw that Sean Connery was trending on Twitter. "Oh dear," I said, "he must have died." Found out he died two years ago.

Recent research says that Covid brain fog is worse for the over-60s. (Have I told you that before?) Would like to blame fog for, well, everything, but I fear it is just me.

Incidentally I thought my smelly nose was bad before but Covid has really thrown a hiccup in it. Hiccup? Spanner? Something more nose-sized?

Liz, I laughed out loud at the Connery comment. Good luck with George today. I hope he is better soon. I haven’t had Covid yet but the brain fog sounds familiar

Brain fog sucks. I first got brain fog 15 years ago with menopause. I don't think it ever truly went away. It just became the new normal, alas.

When famous people die I often think, oh, they were alive till now? Thought they'd gone years ago.

Glad you made it back into the house, though I'm darkly suspicious of a spouse who locks up without checking everyone is in..

I was hoping that, from your twitter comment, perhaps the news was wrong and Sean Connery was still alive and gorgeous! Annoying to get locked out. At least it wasn't freezing cold and raining.

I have the opposite problem, I wake up to find I have left all the doors wide open in the night. Luckily, nothing has gone missing yet.
