George was listening to me grumbling as I picked raspberries. "I can't reach the ones at the back!"
"I hope you're not expecting sympathy from me," George said. "If you recall I can't reach any of them since you put up the barriers."
"It was your own fault," I told him. "It would have been okay if you'd obeyed the fruit pickers' code."
He looked at me. "What's that?"
"One for the picker, two for the bowl."
"Ah well you see the flaw there," he said. "I don't need a bowl. I eat straight from the bush."
"Precisely, George."
Don't feel too sorry for him. He had a wander around the greenhouse instead. His latest habit is picking tomatoes then leaving them on the grass - he doesn't really like tomatoes.
But if he nibbles on the peppers or chillies he might regret it.
My squash meanwhile is about 8" across. And I can't remember what these are but they were a good buy. I might get some more next year.
And do you recall I cleared a patch of garden and created a blue corner? (I thought I had taken a photo but can't find it.) Anyway, true to form, the plant I chose to put at the front has turned out to be the biggest and fastest growing. It's been a pretty little corner though but the garden flowers are all past their best now although the tubs are still colourful.
P.S. Another seizure for George today.

No raspberries, poor George, I hope he doesn't get hold of the peppers or chillies. I'm afraid I did laugh about the tomatoes. Your squash looks good. I hope George is ok.
Those raspberries look wonderful. And I think your mystery flowers are gaillardia. Which is not an intestinal virus, though it looks like it.
Nice garden produce, beautiful flowers still. Hugs to George.
Your garden is doing nicely! I feel for George. Our Georgie is deaf and slowed a lot!
That is one fine looking squash!
A wonderful fruitful garden. Well done.
God bless.
