Having both just spent at least two hours (dramatic licence) looking for my driving licence I'm pleased to say Husband finally found it. I'm even more pleased to report that it wasn't my fault!
Before the hunt I was cleaning. Everyone cleans before going on holiday, right? Nobody wants to come home after a nice relaxing break to a mess. And when I say 'cleaning' I don't mean a deep clean. It's very superficial. No point getting too stressed about dust when it's only gather again when you're away.
We thought the bad weather would be following us on our journey but it's speeded up and is going to be accompanying us, so Husband will have to drive through rain and wind and possibly snow. Which makes packing very difficult.
They have had a mild winter in Italy. Apparently it decided to delay it until we get there. I am trying very hard not to pack every item in my wardrobe.
Also getting slightly neurotic and extra sensitive to tickly throat. Since they've added extra symptoms to the Covid list I think it's safe to say Husband and I have shown all of them at various times during the last two years. I have a permanently runny nose. I blame over-active snot glands.
And does it strike you as suspicious that they've added these symptoms just after making tests no longer free? Not that we're testing anyway. For our last trip to Italy we had to have PCR tests making planning very stressful for Husband as they needed to be done within a time frame. But not this time. Not at the moment anyway. We still have twenty-four hours to go; time for Italy and France to change their minds!
It's Daughter-in-law's birthday today and, like Grandson3, she's down with Covid. (Daughter-in-law is the one in Swansea; Nuora {Italian for daughter-in-law} is the one in Italy.)
I am very blessed in the partners my children have settled with. They are all lovely people.
Anything else? Ooh, let's have a Culture Corner. Watched the final final episode of Peaky Blinders last night. Felt the ending was a little contrived but I could be in the minority there. The Guardian called it a "thrumming, electrifying signoff."
I've also nearly finished reading Outlawed by Anna North. It's a feminist retelling of the Old Hole in the Wall Gang story, and is very enjoyable, though confusing when girls dressed as boys dress as girls. You need to read it to understand. I recommend it.

For the past few trips to visit children I have brought fewer clothes and counted on doing laundry there.
I hope everything, weather and covid included, cooperate for your upcoming trip!
I hope your plans go smoothly. Travel is stressful at the moment.
Safe trip and hug everyone many times!
