One day the in-laws invited us out to lunch at La Truna, an agriturismo in the mountains. An agriturismo is a family-run farm offering stays or meals, where the emphasis is on local produce, often from the farm itself. There isn't a menu as such and you don't get to choose what you want as they just bring it out. There tend to be lots of courses allowing you to sample a good variety of traditional foods.
It was a lovely day but slightly hazy when we went there. The food. Simplest if I show you the photos. Bother, they're back to front. Never mind.

Main course: pork and baked apples. |

Pasta course: most people had either tomato or mushroom sauce. I had a bit of both. |

Cheese wrapped in ham and baked in paper, see below. |

Vitello tonnato, veal with a tuna mayonnaise type sauce. |
Delicious (rich) food in a lovely location. The restaurant was in what was presumably a converted storage cellar (although not below ground).

Yes, one of the wee piggies' friends is no more.
I am glad it appears across the several posts that your trip was wonderfully fun!!!! All the images help me to feel the joy and (mostly) relaxation you had! The food also looks very tempting!!!

So much food and so delicious looking. Yummy!
Stunning. What a wonderful experience
I find the food course presentations interesting - especially the polenta. I won't ask if you and your husband gained an ounce or two while in Italy. I'm just happy that your trip turned out so well! (Missed your postings while you were gone.)
Agriturismos are absolutely amazing. Fresh, local and tasty.
OK, now I have to turn off the computer and fix lunch. Pictures (and I'm seldom impressed with picts of food) look delicious!
