And the little weeing gnome

We were in Italy mainly so I could spend time with the grandchildren - and their parents of course, ahem - but we did manage to see a few places.

Lots of houses have paintings on their sides. These are from Roccaforte Mondovi where Younger Son and family live.

Piedmont (I think) has lots of these Big Benches. This one was number 31.
One day we took the children to Mondovi, which has a funicular to the top where there is a playground. Unfortunately it was closed. The funicular that is. Just like the cave that only opened on Sundays, and the ice cream shop that was completely shut.

We saw the fountain in Mondovi though it wasn't working because of the long dry summer Italy has had.
Husband insisted on finding this square, also in Mondovi. It has a fountain - those geysers that shoot up from the pavement - not working of course, but he recalls sitting in a bar on a previous visit watching me run in and out of the showers of water. I don't remember but it sounds eminently like me.

And I think my translation of this saint's title is possibly inaccurate: patron saint of toilets.

Well, if there isn't a patron saint of toilets, there should be!

I wonder what it says about me that I first read the title of the post as "A Weeding Gnome"?
