Two surprises

Two charity shop finds. I had high hopes of one, and was simply looking for a light read with other.

According to all the rave reviews on the cover and inside this was going to be the funniest book I'd read all year. 

I didn't bother finishing it!

I love Dawn French and a few years ago went to her live show, but I found this hugely disappointing.

But this I thoroughly enjoyed. Read over the course of two sunny days. It was silly and nostalgic and the heroine was just lovely.

A jolly fun read.
