Is it only Friday?

It feels like it should be July at least.

Brief highlights.

Monday my other exercise class started again for the first time since first lockdown. It was great to get back.

Tuesday looked after GrandDaughter3 for a little while. We had a teddy bears' tea party. Then Zac's on the beach where Sean read a deeply depressing passage from Lamentations followed by the equally uplifting passage basically reminding us that after 'the bitterness and the gall' comes sweetness. In our case in the form of communion where we broke banana bread and drank cranberry juice.

WEDNESDAY Red Letter Day

Elder Son, Daughter-in-law, GrandSon1 and GrandSon3 moved from Surrey to Swansea!

But before that, as restrictions ease, I felt safe to volunteer to cook for lunches in Zac's. Bolognese sauce for thirty, anyone?

That was after I'd mastered the new tin opener.

Now that's what you call a tin opener.

Then it was home to await the arrival. Slightly shy at first - after all they'd not seen us for real for about eighteen months - the GrandBoys opted to stay here while their parents went to supervise the unloading. Daughter brought her children around after school and it was very happy chaos.

Thursday and it was my regular food delivery day followed by a visit to the new house to collect the boys and walk down through Clyne Gardens to the beach and along and back to our house. Daughter brought children around again after school and a VERY loud pool session followed. Then because I'd not cooked enough bolognese this week I made the same again for all of us, plus a vegetarian version for Daughter and GrandDaughter1, with slightly under-cooked rhubarb crumble for afters.

While we were eating I remembered it was also our 43rd anniversary.
Soon after our return from honeymoon in our house with hand-me-down furniture

Friday
Tonight Daughter is cooking for us all (eating in our house/garden though.) Apologies to neighbours in advance. There will be noise.

In less happy news, Younger Son and family will be off to live in Italy on 23rd July. So we have a month in between one son coming and one son going. I am determined to make it a month of making memories rather than a month of increasing miserableness so we'll see how that goes.

Sounds like a week of happy. My grands are all grown and far away to boot. Nice that many of yours are close by. And, anniversary congrats!

You've had a momentous week! Glad to hear that your son and his family have indeed moved and are near you now. And banana bread communion? That could REVOLUTIONIZE Christianity!

And Happy Anniversary too. What a wonderful photo of two young lovebirds!

It is a week of happy, Pam.

Actually there was an alternative to banana bread for communion, Debra - rhubarb cake! And thank you both.

Happy 43rd Anniversary, Liz. You were fortunate to have hand-me-down furniture and I agree with Debra bout the photo of the two young lovebirds. (The lovebirds still look great!)
