Old, a little bit gifted and Welsh

I wrote recently about how slow George is on walks these days. It's not really a problem except when I'm talking to him. He's so far behind me I fear passers-by may think I'm talking to myself (heaven forbid!)

This morning I told him we had serious matters to discuss so could he please try and keep up.

'I have to think of a name for my website. It needs to be short and snappy. Like 'Young, Gifted and Black.'

George looked me up and down. 'What about, 'Old, not Gifted and Welsh'?'

'Huh! You could at least have said a bit gifted.'

'That's not very snappy. Anyway why are you looking for a name for a website?'

Dog from the film
I sighed deeply. 'You remember the film, Never-ending Story?'

'Before my time.'

'Oh well, I'm in that.'

'You're a film star! I didn't know that!'

'Don't be silly, George, I'm not a film star.'

George sniffed. 'Well, it did seem unlikely.'

'No, I mean what I'm trying to do is never-ending. Let me explain.'

George started to interrupt but I said, 'No, listen, please. I want to to do this ...' I could see he was about to interrupt again so I held up my hand to stop him. 'I want to do this but I can't do this until I've done that. I do that and discover I need to do this. When I've done this it tells me to read this and this. I read, 'When it comes to server operating systems, ble ble ble ble ble you'll click easily identifiable icons.'

'It says ble ble ble?'

'No, but it makes about as much sense to me. So then it says, watch this video for easy step by step instructions. The video says, do this, this, this, this, this, and that. I'm on about the second this. The only good thing about is that I haven't ended up back where I started ... I think that's a good thing. Or is that where I want to end up? What do you think, George?'

I look back to see George happily sniffing a tree. I am inclined to join him.

I have no doubt you'll come up with the perfect blog name, no thanks to George.

George is a semi-good listener anyway.

In Scots the word Hen is used to mean a woman or girl.
In Welsh it means Old.

So Hen Hen might be a good blogname for you ;-)

A boring name, Debra.

He is a very good listener if he thinks there may be treats involved, Marie.

I wish I'd known that before I named my website, Stu! It's an excellent name.

Sounds to me that George is doing a fine job - listening. It will help you make the best choices!
