So much for AI

Had a much-needed cleaning day yesterday. I say cleaning but it was more of whizz around with a lick and a promise - and we all know the promise isn't going to be fulfilled. Still I'm not wearing my glasses so everything looks fine to me.

In an attempt to maintain a conversation source with my growing grandchildren I decided to buy the computer game Minecraft. As well as being able to understand what they're talking about, apparently several people can play it online so we can play together. That is if ... I can work out how to download it.

No, that's not true: I think I have downloaded it but now I can't find it anywhere. My concern that I may get addicted to it seems less worrying in light of my technical failure.

We've started watching a new crime series on Amazon. It's Canadian and called Cardinal: you may be familiar with it. Halfway through the first episode Husband said, 'I think I've seen this.' It didn't seem likely as I know I haven't but he said it a few times.

Last night watching the second episode he said, 'I have seen this. He did it.'
'Thank you, dear.'
'Oh sorry, Yes, I remember now; she helps him.'
I don't think he can have noticed me scowling at him.

George got Husband up in the middle of the night again. He's doing it more and more frequently - and refusing to come in. Husband had to throw a bucket of water over him last night to make him come out of the bushes.

We've thought about letting him stay out all night if he wants to but inevitably he'll change his mind at some point and start barking again. We can't come up with a way to stop it. I think he might be getting a bit old and dopey. Warm milk is supposed to help you sleep but he's allergic to milk. Maybe we should try a shot of whisky.

Apparently if you live in America you can ask Alexa to play my podcast from Apple Podcasts. I got into quite an argument with our Alexa about it. 'Look, it says on the internet that you can do it so stop being awkward and play it.' She didn't think to tell me she could only do it if we lived in America. I needed Elder Son to work that out for me. So much for Artificial intelligence.

More rain is forecast for today so I picked some of the peonies and roses from the garden.

What beautiful bouquets! I never watched "Cardinal" when it was on TV but it's on one of my streaming services, so I may eventually watch it. The fourth and final season just finished airing here on TV.

Oh, such gorgeous flowers, Liz. What is the orange rose?

Your blooms are better than the florists.

I have to take off my glasses in the house too.

I dropped a sewing needle on the carpet the other day, which meant putting my glasses on. Not a good idea. The word haystack popped into my head...

I love your bouquets and will look for Cardinal, I always appreciate a new mystery series. I just found a French series yesterday and already watched two episodes, it is "Les Petit Muertres d'Agatha Christie and I recommend it.

I think this must be a later series, Debra, as it refers back.

Um, an orange rose? Sorry, no idea what it's called, CopCar.

Who needs to see, Marie?

It's scary, Sonata, and the world is alraedy a scary place so better to avoid altogether.

It is a bit gruesome, Terra, as it deals with abducted and killed teenagers.

Hah! I can sympathize with tour Alexa issue. About a year ago, I was so excited to find I could see and find websites for all the BBC Channels (1-4) and they had links to view the programs via the Internet using the “BBC iPlayer”. I geared up, filled with excitement and anticipation because I easily saw at least 20 different programs that looked utterly amazing and wonderful for my wife and me to view!! So, that evening, I set up her laptop so we could watch something really good, I think it was on Channel 4...... and then the message pops up.....

This program available for viewing only in the UK.

I was so, so very disappointed.

Beautiful flowers. Hmmm - cleaning without my glasses. That doesn't sound like a bad idea!
