Took the opportunity of going to a shop to use my (sock) face mask. Sadly my attempt at International Woman of Mystery look was slightly foiled by my slippery ear and the refusal of the mask to stay in place.
But I did better than this lady! (Apologies in advance: it is from the Mail but what can you do?)

I'm laughing with you, Liz. It is difficult to get shaping on masks that are not sewn. All of the masks that I've made, so far, have had pleats that take up the excess material toward the ears. There is no reason to think it would be any better; but, if I were making a sock mask, I would use two socks - one regular sock with a sheer nylon sock inside it. I've not seen this done, but the nylon would not only be electrostatic, it would have finer "holes".
P.S. The thought probably occurred to me because I just returned from my morning walk, for which I wore two pairs of socks - nylon inside cotton - to reduce friction.
Good idea, CopCar. Daughter has said she will make me a proper one. I only used this today as I had to pop out. If they become compulsory I will need a better one.
That poor woman looks like a MUPPET! At least you've retained some dignity with your sock mask!
That lady laughing got me to laughing too.
Lol. Good one!
I like to think I am always dignified, Debra!
Yes, I was laughing with her too!
I shudder to think what the result would be if I tried making my own face mask. I haven't bought any as yet because hardly anyone here is wearing one.
That was great! I laughed right along with her. Wonderful post.
