Every year, at about this time, we used to visit the 'secret' bluebell wood. It was only secret because it was at the very top of Clyne valley hill and you had to almost cut your way through bushes to get there. These days it's more frequented because of trails laid by mountain bikers.
Anyway, we haven't been for a few years because George hasn't been up to climbing the hill but this morning I proposed Husband and I go without George.
The bluebells aren't quite in full bloom yet so we weren't greeted by the usual carpet of blue but there were a few nice patches. Unfortunately my camera skills don't do them justice!

Still beautiful!
When I found bluebells in the redwood forests on the californian coast years ago, I sang "If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a Big Sur prize ;-)"
We have a bluebell wood on one of my dog walking routes. It's looking and smelling beautiful.
They are, Debra.
Very good, stu!
The perfume is wonderful, Polly.
Such a beautiful blue!
Happy Easter to you! It appears I may be a bit off in your time zone, however. I apologize. It is Easter here.

It sounds like a great hike to a beautiful area.
Do you ever cultivate wild garlic for eating?
