In prison this morning, when we were being searched, the prison officer said, 'Have you got anything in your bra?'
I peered inside the front of my jumper. 'Do you really think there's room for anything else in there?'
In the library afterwards they were celebrating St. David's Day with welsh-cakes and hot drinks (for a small donation). I partook, sat down, read my library book, and enjoyed my refreshment. Most civilised. They should do that more often.
I had hoped to get a photo of the sea and daffodils to mark our patron saint's day but all the daffodils with sea in the background were past their best. I did manage to get this moody shot from the back of the library though.
'Did you know you have a number on your back?'
'What?! Oh fiddle, I'd forgotten.'
'Do you want me to take it off?'
'Yes, please.'
'Ah, it doesn't want to come off. It's stuck fast.'
At the folk dance there were numbers that had come loose flying about everywhere. Mine has to be different.

I love your response to the prison officer. Priceless!
Many, many years ago in Manitoba, I was scheduled to give a seminar series in a federal penitentiary's educational program concerning (if I remember correctly) civil and human rights. But right before I was due to start, there was a huge prison riot and the whole place got locked down for weeks. The educational program people never contacted me again. Perhaps the program got cancelled in wake of the riot.
Apparently lots of people keep phones there, Nick.
Debra, a few years ago I was in prison one weekday working with some of the men to prepare a 'show' for Christmas. While I was shut in a room with them the prison went into lockdown. Fortunately it lasted minutes not weeks!
Fun comment to the guard!
