Husband went to collect our prescriptions from the chemist this morning. The problem with that is the time that is spent waiting and browsing through 'useful' gadgets.
He came home with a thermometer. Never mind that he has managed seventy years without one he deemed a requisite.
So now he can add it to his heart monitor and blood pressure reader.
This is what having a heart attack does for you.
P.S. He made me check mine. It was 35.9 or as I read it, '65.3?'

A thermometer is the kind of thing that's useless -- until you really need one!
I've never had one, I just relied on the kiss-the-child's-forehead method. Less useful now I live alone!
Defintely 65.3, so you can claim to be the hottest wife around ;-)
The more we check, the more there is to get worked up about.
When our elder daughter was an infant, her pediatrician said, "Throw your thermometer away! All it will do is worry you."

Only time I've ever used one was on very young sick children but everyone needs things to make them feel secure!
I am inclined to the 'it's probably okay' view, but I am on pills for anxiety so i don't worry about anything. I do like Stu's idea though.
