Boing, said Jesus

I have just written a post for my writing blog about serious bits in light-hearted novels. How do you feel about them? Should a novel be simply one thing or the other?

In other news I have been receiving ads on FaceBook for a ... wait for it ... portal!

"The best Mother’s Day gift is more of you. Save up to £50 on select Portal devices for a limited time only."

As the only portals I am aware of occur in Hogwarts world I am assuming these are magic, and wondering what I have done to be granted such a special opportunity.  Have I been specially chosen to be in multiple places at once because of my great ... good looks? No, wait, gullibility seems more likely.

Unfortunately Husband has imposed a spending ban on me so I will never find out.

And speaking of bans, I have to admit I would not be entirely unwelcoming to a period of self-isolation. I don't want to be ill or to cause problems for anyone else but two weeks without having to go anywhere and not feel guilty if I don't sounds awfully tempting.

I'm sure in reality it would be a real pain and for many would be disastrous but allow me my little daydream.

And, while looking for something else I came upon this and it made me laugh.

It's a delicate balancing act between drama and comedy. It's easy to hit a wrong note in adding a bit of one to the other, it seems to me.

Hm, good point, Debra. When my book is finished I shall have to ask people to read it for their opinions before publishing.
