Friday miscellany

Still trying to catch up on blogging. Life seems to get busier rather than easier and I'm ... not myself.

So a few odds and ends to be going on with. On a sunny afternoon when it became too hot to sit in the sun I took cover under the shade and coloured and glittered a cat mask given to the grandchildren by the cat shop.
That was after I'd bought myself a body board of course. All I need now is an opportunity - and a sunny day - to use it.
Meanwhile Younger Son and family have got themselves two kittens. That's in addition to the two chickens and two children.
I had cause to visit Swansea Guildhall and while there was rather taken with the Art Deco style in the Ladies Lavatory.

There was an item on the BBC website recently that said the UK was experiencing a ten-year phenomenon with a huge increase in the number of Painted Lady butterflies being seen. I can report that it's true: there were loads of them on Mumbles Hill, all taunting me, daring me to try and get a good photo.
Bindweed may be an absolute nuisance but it does sometimes have pretty flowers.

Sloes are ripening, just waiting to be picked for the gin.
And these look as if they should in a desert somewhere.

Today is Book Lovers' Day and I'm hoping I'll manage a post later to celebrate - but I may not. In case I don't, may I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy book loving day.

Happy Book Lovers Day! So what are you reading today?
I've only just started The Wedding Wallah by Farahd Zama but like it so far.

I just finished two books, yesterday: Here and Now and Then by Mike Chen and Flood Tide by Clive Cussler. Didn't know it was Book Lovers' Day, thanks. Obviously, you enjoyed it!
