We've been to the vet again

When George was a puppy they said, 'do you want to take out pet insurance?'
We said, 'No. We never needed it with Harvey.'

George has a mucky patch of dermatitis under his chin. He's been shaved and we have to give him pills and apply cream. And that cost us £63.

The vet asked if we'd changed his diet. I didn't bother mentioning the kidney beans; I didn't want him thinking George was completely stupid.

Apparently the weather's right for dermatitis: warm and wet. Not helped by George's fondness for dirty puddles.

Poor George! Sophie seems to be itchy these days, too; I know it doesn't help that she rolls around in mud and itchy weeds.

By the way, love the portrait of George on your post on the cliff path--what a handsome fellow!

Vet bills...gulp...I know what those are like. However, if one has pets, it's the price one pays.

I did have pet insurance for Oscar...thank goodness, as it turned out. But I don't have it for Mitzi and Bella as they're indoor cats and less likely to get into trouble.

I hope George's itchies can be cured.

O Liz, how could anybody possibly think that..??

Well hope Georges's itchy patches are better. I spend as much on vet bills as my own....no I spend more.

However, Luckie is no more expensive than any other large dog I have had. It just goes with the territory I guess.

Luckie is in the process of shedding all over the house, a process she continually does in the summer.

Poor George. I hope the Vet didn't take a look at him and think "What now!"

Bocephus says he hopes George is feeling better soon, but wants to know what is wrong with eating kidney beans? Bo says anything humans eat is okay with him. Most expensive thing he has eaten: $20 bill. Most frustrating thing he has stolen and eaten? Fresh Blueberry Hand Pies straight out of the oven the moment my back was turned--no wait a minute! How could I have forgotten the pound of chocolate he ate that I had to make him throw up? Eeeewwwwwww!

Hope he is feeling better soon.

Poor George :(
You still could take out vet insurance if you filled in some quotes online and I think its a good thing because I've never yet met a cheap vet, and the larger the dog the higher the bill. Besides, it might shame George into staying well!

Trouble is, I'm getting too familiar with the inside of the vet's, mrs n.

Yes, rose, I was planning on keeping George clean and dry today but he had other ideas.

I think george's dermatitis will be a lifelong irritation, puss. On and off.

Precisely, gledwood.

let's not get started on the mess dogs create as well as the bills, nitwit!

Jams, I only have to give my name when I phone and they say, 'George, is it?'

Tell Bocephus not to eat raw kidney beans, morning glory! Turkey, butter, wood, but no money yet.

I should investigate, DD. Especially if the dermatitis is going to be regular occurrence.
