My new hoover is a ...

Sebo!

Yes, I know: I'd never heard of them until I started investigating cleaners. Sebo, Bosch and Miele came out top in the Which and other reviews. Bosch uprights were hard to find; Miele was about £60 more than the Sebo and only had a 5 instead of 10 year guarantee.

So Sebo it is.

And so far so Sebo. (That doesn't really work, does it, as play on words of any sort?)

We've gone back to a bagged cleaner - the bagless was useless with a George in the house - but this time I'll read the instructions before breaking it. I mean instead of breaking it.

I spent £60 on a new hoover 2 years ago and its rubbish. I brought it from Woolies just before they closed down. But have you seen some of the right posh hoovers that are about £350 !!! Ive had cars that cost less than that!

That looks powerful. We've had a "Henry" since the end of 2002, and I'm beginning to feel like a change. I'll watch your reports with interest :)

Right now my current vacuum cleaner is bagless with 4 filters which have to b e replaced when filthy. One is a HEPA filter..suppossedly helps allergies.

And I have a DOG, Luckie.

We've been down the Dyson route for a while - however bits do seem to break on them in the hands of Mrs F... :-)

However the lastest one since I did a repair a couple of years back still goes strong... funny screaching noise at times but fine.

I have kept saying when it breaks we'll just buy a new one and stop the guy coming around to service it last year... and guess what... still going.

Only issue I have with Dyson's is I have a habit of picking it up and catching the release button and it all falls apart on me. But I'm a man these things are destined to happen around Hoovers... er Dysons.... er Sebo's... whatever

I hope George approves of your Sebo. Raki considers my new Dyson to be "a nasty little brain sucker" - its probably all my fault as her bum gets chased with the extension nozzle if I am feeling in a devillish/free entertainment mood.

So, is your Sebo kind to dogs? What does George think about it? Are you sick of buying bags for it yet? and have you broken it yet?

Hopefully Sebo will have a long life.

Never heard of a Sebo, must be British. But I have heard of Dyson and from what I understand, they're tres cher! Mine is working now since I put in a new bag. Fancy having to put in a new bag every year (or whenever!) lol

Two many bits to get blocked by dog hairs in a bagless one, gled.

Quite possibly, james.

This one was quite expensive, ew, but not that much!

I prefer upright cleaners, dragonstar, and I don't get on with Henrys.

Dysons had really bad reviews, furtheron, with regard to reliability.

Our last hoover had that filtration system, nitwit. Didn't really notice the difference.

AS long as he works, suburbia!

You have a talking cleaner, mutts?!

I was wondering if it was lack of use that finished the last one, sonata ...

I haven't broken it yet, dd. George likes to lie where I'm about to hoover and I'm too soft to make him. I need your ruthlessness, obviously, dd.

I hope so too, cherrypie.

Sebo is German, leslie.
