Introducing Elin Grace

Elin Grace was born at 1 minute past 8 on Monday. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and is absolutely perfect in every way.
Daughter was in labour for 44 hours and managed without drugs - she had a little bit of gas and air but didn't find it helpful so didn't bother - and she was brilliant.

Granny with Elin at about 5 hours old.
I'm home now, leaving Mum, Dad and Elin to get acquainted properly. (I was willing to stay and walk Hollydog, cook meals, wash clothes and be immeasurably useful, but they feared I might start eating Elin so they made me go. 'Not even one tiny toe?' 'NO!')
Hopefully Husband will be better at the weekend and we'll be able to go down again so he can see Elin. (You know what it's like, when someone's in love, they keep mentioning the loved one's name.)
Thank you for all your congratulations and messages!

xx

THank you, Amanda! Babies are indeed gorgeous! So perfect. I know what you mean about being broody (not that I am!) I could have gone on having babies for ever! But Husband put his foot down!

I agree Liz - I loved having babies (I had 5 after all!) but I had to stop because I got too old :(

Anyway, you have to put up with the teenager stage.....

I love those photos.

She is beautiful, Liz! And Daughter looks positively radiant! You've already proven you're going to be a wonderful grandmother--leaving them alone to get acquainted even when you must have been dying to stay! Babies are so precious; enjoy!

Oh Liz! I know exactly how you're feeling right now. It's so exciting to be a grandmother and your little Elin Grace is absolutely puuurrrrfect. I can hardly wait to meet her - one of these days! Looking forward to seeing many more photos of her. I love love love her name - My grandmother's name was Grace and I was hoping that my daughter might have used it.
