At 11.45 am today I was still in my nightie. But I had ordered some Christmas presents and been distracted by Christmas jumpers.
Last night we all gathered at Ask restaurant in Swansea's night life street to celebrate GrandDaughter1's 16th birthday. Not actually until tomorrow when we'll have cake. She wouldn't let us sing happy birthday in the restaurant but agreed her uncle could sing it when we walked back to the cars.
We all sang along - and a group of revellers joined in and insisted on singing it again.
I plus GrandDaughter1 and GrandSon2 all enjoyed a pineapple martini (non-alcoholic) but it does nothing to quench a thirst, barely three mouthfuls.
Meanwhile in Italy Younger Son and family have had their first real snow day.
Now I'm getting myself ready for the Wales All Blacks game this afternoon. Some new youngsters have been called up. Apparently they have lots of promise which instils in me this tiny little glimmer of hope. Which is nonsensical. We're going to be thrashed. But there might just be promising signs?

My fav hockey team is going through tough times that can feel hopeless.
Go Wales!
In my opinion, nNon-alcoholic cocktails are never any good.
Haha, I love this, reading about you still in your nightie, pineapple martini in hand, and the birthday chaos made me smile.
Happy birthday to your grandaughter. They sure got hit with snow in Italy
Happy birthday to the granddaughter. And best of luck with the match
Wales wasn't as severely beaten as was feared,. so that's something positive.
Happy birthday to your granddaughter. How nice to have random strangers singing to her.
Happy birthday to your sweet young woman! The 16th is special.
Happy birthday to your granddaughter. She'll be eligible for a boozy one soon enough.
Dismal sports seasons around here are referred to as "rebuilding". Less painful than "thrashed".
Most teams have their ups and downs I suppose.
They lost but I was proud of them.
I'm teetotal so it was fun for me.
It's typical of life, isn't it?
They did and with cold nights there's lots of ice too.
Thank you.
I was happy at the end of the game!
Thank you. It is.
Thank you.
Unfortunately the Wales team has been rebuilding for several years now . . .
Surprisingly I've never been to Swansea, I'd love to go one day.
