John Henry's got nothing on me

I was trying hard to dig up some bush/tree stumps with a fork. Husband came along and said, "You need a pickaxe."

He disappeared to the shed returning moments later with said pickaxe. "I don't know what to do with that," I said. He proceeded to show me - but carefully. It will be a month or so before he can handle a pickaxe as he used to.

It took a while and a lot of muttering but ta-dah!

And the hole.
Still hundreds of roots in the earth as well as the remaining stumps. It will take time, a whole lot of time.

Good job! I bet your muscles will feel it tomorrow.

Wow, no need for the gym if this is your home workout! It does make a person think twice about planting shrubs and trees.

Wielding that pickaxe looks as if it's very hard work. After watching you work so hard, I think I need to go to bed.

Love,
Janie

be careful when you swing something like that of your shins..... sometimes the pick can bounce off something and come flying through.... use carefully..... also this looks a perfect job for a "mattock"

Great work. Perseverance wins out so, yes, you have more work ahead of you.
