Are you sure?

Because the cows keep getting in the way Daughter has been varying her dog walks so this morning I joined her to walk through Bishopston Valley down to Pwll Du. She'd not done this walk before but I had and knew the way.

"Are you sure this is the way? Do you think we should turn back?"

She sounded like Husband when I drag him on obscure tracks. But this was definitely the way, just a bit over-grown.

One of the less over-grown paths.

Eventually we reached the valley floor and followed the river the rest of the way to the bay.

It's always further than I remember it.

We decided we should try an alternative path back. This took us along an old rocky river bed and involved scrambling over fallen trees. Me who'd decided, 'I'll wear a dress because it's cooler'. Elegant I was not, flashing everything I was.

It also brought us out on the other side of the valley so we had to follow the road down and then back up again - which isn't much fun when it's hot and you've been walking for two hours.

But it was a lovely walk!

Just finished watching Dept Q on Netflix. Very much enjoyed it, great characters though it was a bit gruesome on times. And finished reading Everyone in My Family has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson.

I may be a bit late to this as it had been a Sunday Times Crime Book of the Year. Again, excellent. Unusual in style and intriguing. And at one point there is a chapter summarising everything that has happened so far and I think that is a positively brilliant idea, especially for complicated murder mysteries.

This child will go far.

Quite a trek you had. Didn't you get in the river with the dog to cool down?

That child is a handful!! She'll go far, leaving puzzled people behind her all the way.
That was a huge walk. I'm impressed.
