It's surprisingly difficult to find a good photo of the entrance to County Hall. This was the best I could do.
We try to meet on the beach/promenade behind the civic centre but, when it rains, we find cover at the front. And having checked the definition of portico with Mr Chambers I think that's probably the best description.* * * * *
Up and out early this morning to get Husband to Morriston Hospital for 9 for his gym assessment. Was going to hang around the area but as he's likely to be there for three to four hours I browsed a little and then came home.
(I need a consistent style on this blog. I am very inconsistent when it comes to writing numbers.)
Just leapt up and ran into the kitchen where my phone, which was buried in my bag under the washing, was ringing. I missed it. It was Husband. He's rung again to ask me to go and get him - just less than two hours after dropping him off. I haven't even finished my tea! Phooey.

I've been wearing my denim culottes, mustard tights, and woolly boots. Husband may laugh but I think I look cool!

Fascinating programme on the radio as I drove back to the hospital. Called English as a goddess, it was about the value many Indians place on the English language. There are those who still, reasonably, resent the British rule, and refuse to speak English, but for most white-collar jobs it is an essential requisite.
One interesting aspect of it was that sanskrit reflects the caste system but English is classless in that respect. Also there are something like twenty-two regional languages, and though Hindi is the proscribed national language, only about thirty per cent of the population speaks it. (This is based on my memory of what was said so don't swear by it.)
On another radio programme a professor/television presenter was asked to explain Einstein's theory of relativity in easy language in thirty seconds. I still didn't understand it.
I do love the radio.

I agree about radio. It is not as popular these days but there is some great programming.
Judging by BBC tv, BBC radio must be great.
I listen to the radio all the time, but only Radio 4 or Radio 4 Extra.
Things that sound boring turn out to be fascinating.
It is very good.
Me too, Janice.
Let husband laugh at your outfit. If you like it that's all that matters.
