Yesterday evening a government alert was issued via phones to warn of the impending storm. Apparently it gave people a fright it was so loud and scary.
Husband didn't hear it because his phone was upstairs and he was downstairs watching television. (Which would be be a problem if it had turned out to be a nuclear attack.) I didn't get the alert at all.
From this I can only conclude there is a secret plan afoot by the government to get me blown away to Oz.
The reason is obvious. They have discovered I am the rightful heir to the throne of Wales* and should the independence party get hold of this information there would be an immediate uprising, Wales would be devolved, and I would be crowned Queen.
Except of course I would refuse the crown. I would insist on Wales becoming a democratic state with Michael Sheen as President for life. No wonder the powers that be want me blown away.
* My ancestors include Welsh king, Rhodri Mawr (Rhodri the Great).

It is quite windy today!
There are reports of several main roads closed because of fallen trees. Memories of the Great Storm of '87 when we lived in Southampton and a tree fell down across the road immediately outside our house. And I slept through it. (Husband was already working in Swansea at the time.)
Jigsaw Day today I think.

I shall play some Christmas music and finally get out the Christmas mugs. I am not feeling at all Christmassy. Waiting and uncertainty are taking their toll.

Anxious waiting is wearying. For different reasons, I know how you are feeling.
Loved your plan on our future president! I'd vote for him.
I love watching Michael Sheen and David Tennant bicker with each other. A delightful ongoing riff on Aziraphale's and Crowley's fondly combative relationship.
No idea who this future Welsh president is, I'm guessing an actor? Don't go there! Our experience has not been good..
Yes, waiting and worrying isn't so good, so a jigsaw puzzle might fit the bill today.
Waiting and anxiety over a medical procedure go hand in hand. I wish you peace of mind today, Liz!
Me too!
I think my surgery is scheduled for the end of April, but maybe I'll post someday rather than explain it here.
If you change your mind, Queen Liz has a ring to it.
Waiting is never fun. Interesting theory you have
IMHO either of our countries would be well served by Josiah Edward Bartlet (as played by Martin Sheen) as president.
