You've got to eat a germ or two

There was too much food to cook on the barbecue so we put the sausages in the oven as it was already on. Then, fed-up because they weren't cooking quickly enough I put them under the grill, went back outside, started talking to someone, and forgot the sausages.

I like to think it added a little authentic barbecue burned flavour. (Not that Husband burns things on the barbecue: he is very good these days. Except when I say, "Isn't it ready yet?" and he turns up the gas, and it goes up in flames.)

We had some of the left-over pancakes for lunch today with bacon and maple syrup. As I poured syrup over them a blob of something green-looking landed on my pancake.
"What's that? Is it mould?" I scraped it off. "It'll be fine."
"We'll be putting that on your tombstone," Husband said.

I dread to think what Clair, our chef in Zac's, would have said. She is, naturally, very fussy about hygiene and stuff.

Our bacon had definitely gone off so we had to have the pancetta left over from last week.

Yep, scrape that green glob off and dig in. It'll be fine :)

This is reminiscent of how we cleaned out our work fridge/freezer last week. Ate things of unknown origin. So far so good. Hope the same for you.

A peck of dirt never did anyone any harm I agree!
