How did you spend Saturday?

Thought I'd do a little pottering in the garden and ended up cleaning the drain. No, clearing the drain. Which in reality is a rather pointless exercise as water has to flow uphill to get to it.

But at least I feel as if I've done something useful. Every morning I get up and resolve that today I shall be better. Nicer, eat less, do more. Every evening I go to bed beating myself up for having failed again. I either need to try harder or set myself lower targets. Like, just get through the day.

I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't have to go out to work when the children were little. And because Husband worked hard until he retired I feel I don't deserve to retire but must keep on working. If I'd been a good housekeeper it wouldn't be so bad, but I was rubbish at it.

Anyway, here for Anvilcloud is a close-up of the Big Wheel.

I was sure I must have my own picture of the two islands that make up the headland but I'm afraid I've had to borrow one from the Mumbles Pier website.

And now I'm going to shower - again - because we're off out for curry this evening to celebrate Daughter-in-law's birthday (yesterday). First time we've been out for curry since before lockdown. Excited!

Enjoy your curry. You've earned it.

I can't think why you don't see your life at home with small children as anything but an endless backbreaking job! From which you're entitled to be retired.
Just think, if you didn't even exist, your husband would have worked hard till retirement. So that doesn't oblige you.
I have shouted at you long enough for now!

Have a lovely time dining out and celebrating with family. You may want to give yourself grace.

Hope you had a great family time and enjoyed the curry.. we plan days to do nothing as since being retired we always seem to be doing something.

Sometimes I make a list of what I would like to achieve the next day.
I make sure there are some really easy chores to complete on it as well as some difficult ones I have been putting off.
Hope the curry was delicious and gathering was fun.
Cheers
Peggy

I was looking in the wrong place for the big wheel. Glad you put the picture here with the arrow.

I see it . . . sort of. 😊👍

While I often feel that I should do better, I tend to accept who and what I am.
