Coming soon

They were short-staffed in Zac's this morning so I helped out. It was non-stop! We gave out about one hundred meals. And one of our ovens wasn't working so we were late starting serving. Fortunately we'd been given left-over buns, cakes, pastries, and bread from the food bank so everyone could be kept happy while waiting.

Volunteers I notice fall into two categories. You have the ones who will come and do the job they're given, and you have the ones who will muck in, see something needs doing, and do it. Still we're grateful for all help.

I've just realised my official book launch is two weeks today! I'm only doing an online launch. I don't know enough real people (who'd come) to have a real-life one. I might do it live online or maybe record beforehand. I shall have to think about it. And quickly. What was it John Lennon said? "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans."

Ooh, I think that would be a good quote to write in my commonplace book. My first one!

And it turns out to be an even more worthwhile quote. John Lennon quotes it in his song, Beautiful Boy, but it was originally said by Allen Saunders in Reader's Digest in 1957. So who knew?

I didn't know that famous quotation originated in Reader's Digest! It has more cachet when attributed to John Lennon, that's for sure. And yes, it's perfect with which to start off your new Commonplace Book!

Good luck on the launch.

About Lennon: his best bits were swiped from other people including Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono. He had a flair for self marketing.

In your earlier map post about grocery stores…… the map was 100% accurate for my state!!! Meijer’s!

It's very rewarding helping others isn't it Liz.
I volunteer 3 days a week at the Lifeline Book Depot getting the books ready for sale at 2 of their bookfairs. We raise a lot of money for this great cause.

Good luck at your online book launch. Live online will be nerve-wracking but lots of fun.

Take care

A lot of people would go hungry without willing volunteers.
