Christmas must be coming

Have changed to our Christmas bedding. I planned to use the winter duvet too - but I can't find it. We've got one of those two-piece duvet sets. There's a medium spring/autumn one and a thin summer one, which can be joined onto the autumn one for winter. That's the one I can't find. I suspect we've been using the medium one on its own for years, through all seasons.

I sometimes put my dressing-gown on top but that's more for the comfort of weight than for the cold. I grew up in an unheated house unable to move in bed for all the blankets piled on top.

Anyway I also changed the mattress and pillow covers. The new ones I bought came in lovely plastic zipped cases, which I am looking at and trying to find a use for. I did wonder about using one of the small ones as a wash-bag when we go to Italy as I currently have to use two to carry all the big bottles of shampoo etc. If we ever went to a posh hotel I'd take a proper one of course! But I'm not sure if the plastic is strong enough.

When I was in Tesco's recently I spotted a Dog Puzzle. I think I mentioned a while ago that aspersions were being cast about George's intelligence, indeed, the intelligence of the current grand-dogs too. So I bought the puzzle and will test them both separately over the Christmas holiday.
Husband has seen it and commented, "They will just chew the plastic." I have more faith.

Winter bedding has been on here for some time.

You mentioned an unheated room and weight from bedding in your youth. It was the same at my grandparents’ house. You couldn’t turn over in bed but you were warm!

Good luck with your scientific exploration of the two dogs' intelligence!

I grew up with unheated bedrooms, ice inside the windows! That dread of getting up, oh dear. I don't miss it.

I wonder if chewing the toy indicates an intelligent opinion of the manufacturer?

I have one of those plastic zip bags from a comforter I bought a year ago. Still trying to come up with the best use for it.
Keep us posted on your canine intelligence research.
