The holly and the lavender

Exercise followed by a long walk with Louie. The wind across the golf course was deafening and making my ears ache so we headed down into the bay in the hope it would be calmer there. It wasn't.

So we crossed the river and walked back along the sheltered side of the valley. The trouble with going down into a valley, if you want to get back to where you started, you have to, at some point, go up, and by this time we'd already walked further than normal so it was a trek. For me that is, not Louie, who continued to bound and leap around as if we'd just set off.

The other problem with the golf course at this time of year is that you have to avoid not only golfers but mummy cows and their babies. It's an obstacle course.

Pennard castle overlooks the valley

Statice aka sea lavender

Sea holly

A lovely walk though.

Louie does look like he was having a grand time.
Sea holly growing out of rock is impressive.
