Spontaneous steak

Three days later I finally got my spontaneous steak.

Inevitably it was slightly disappointing but the chips were nice and it was just good to be cooked for.

While we were out enjoying ourselves a friend dropped off two rubbish bags full of bread. She collects from M&S for a foodbank but has so much bread she doesn't have space for it. So I took it to Zac's today, used some to make pizza slices and the rest was given away to anyone who wanted a loaf.

They went down well.

Coming home today I noticed some double lilies in the garden. They must have been there before but I don't think I've spotted them.
It's the Wales Air Show this weekend. It happens over Swansea Bay and there are always road closures but this year the closures were put in place at noon today and last until noon on Monday. Of course this results in traffic being diverted and Swansea becoming one big traffic jam. I shall try not to go anywhere to the east of us until after Monday!

After days of preparation, I'm glad the spontaneous steak came to be. And that was a great meal at Zac's good thinking. I'm not surprised it was well received.

Those pizza slices yummy — more so than the steak right now.

While a steak meal is not my favorite, glad you were able to finally go out and enjoy yours, although the fries pairing seemed unusual as a baked potato seems more usual, but perhaps that was your choice. Good re-use of the bread to create pizza slices.

Well, that meal looks lovely! I love a good steak and chips but it's been a while. I might be making some now as yours looked so good. A lovely way to make use of leftover bread. My mother-in-law used to be given bread from a bakery over here several years ago and do the same thing. She would drop what they weren’t able to store at her place, take them over to the mission later, and also to a couple of neighbors who were elderly. They always appreciated the feed being on a budget. Your double lilies are gorgeous and sounds like you are wise to stay off the road with the air show going. Thanks for commenting a while ago. I need to apologize for the lateness in answering. I've only just started catching up on my past posts. I was so far behind. You can read my answer at the link below if you have time to take a peak. Have a great week!
