I which I carry out an idea

I have a tendency to collect pretty stones - check back a few posts to see my holiday souvenirs - but when I get them home am at a loss as to what to do with them. They usually end up scattered in the garden. But this time I had a Brilliant Idea.

My sticking was a little bit wonky but I am pleased nevertheless, bearing in mind this was MY idea. What I visualise in my head and what comes out are usually two very different things.

I even varnished the stones first to show up their colour.

I can see the future in this. When I am dead my children will have to empty my house of frames of stones.

Life has been a bit busy. As well as prepping for the study tomorrow evening - still in the throes of that - we have GrandDaughter2's birthday party, as well as getting back to normal with every-week life.

Plus Daughter's cat, Charlie, died on Friday evening. Even I cried and I didn't particularly like her!

She's been part of their family for about twenty years and though she's not been too well for the last few years I was convinced she would live for ever.

When Daughter lived in a small cottage in Devon Charlie's food tray was kept on the very narrow landing. To get to the bedroom I would arrange my feet plie style in order to keep my legs as far away as possible from Charlie if she was there as she had a habit of suddenly slashing out. Absolutely no reason for her actions and she terrified me!

She mellowed as she aged and GrandDaughter1, who was very attached to Charlie, doesn't believe me when I say she was vicious.

A long and carefree life like Charlie’s is any cat’s dream!

I like your solution to the stone gathering. Maybe your can make mysterious cairns in the garden, too..
Sorry about Charlie. She probably objected to the scent of your dogs.

Poor Charlie -- looks like she had a good long life though. And I like how you've framed your rocks.

Those stones are a lovely memento of your trip, and you'll be able to see them on a regular basis. It sounds like Charlie lived a full life.

I like the idea of the stones. I have the same problem with ideas looking totally different when I see them in my head.
Cats do have a way of fooling their owners into believing they are kind and loving...lol

My wife likes collecting pretty stones too; mostly carbon, mounted on rings :-(
